FAQs
What is Kings of Hearts exactly?
Kings of Hearts is a men’s leadership & self-development organization started by 3 close friends with the mission to create safe spaces to challenge the status quo and refine what it means to show up as a man today.
Are you trying to make men less masculine?
No. It’s not about more or less, it’s about inviting men to take ownership of what is healthy and what is not. When a man lives in his truth, he knows when to access his assertiveness and when to tap into his softness.
What is a Heart-to-Heart event?
It is an event for all genders which we host in-person or online. The goal is to dive deeper into conversations around masculinity, leadership, and mental health/awareness. Thus, building a community that stands for growth-minded and heart-driven dialogue is our ultimate purpose.
What can women do to support Kings of Hearts?
Attend heart-to-heart experiences, send the men in your life our way, bring them with you to events, and most importantly have deeper conversations with the men in your life. Some men need to feel it is safe to reach out for help; let’s all be a part of changing the narrative of the lone wolf.
Is Kings of Hearts only for men?
No. We believe that everyone needs to have a voice in this subject. If not addressed it ultimately affects everyone. We have specific events catered to all genders, and also events solely for men.
How do I get involved?
Join us for our next virtual event, follow us on IG @thekingsof.hearts, and listen to our podcast.
Tell me more about your men’s group.
Our men’s group is called the King’s Council. It is an online support group where we take 6-12 men on a journey through our four pillars for 16 weeks. It involves deep discussions, exercises, and homework.
Do you do speaking engagments?
Yes, we do. Please submit a request through our Contact Us page.
What is “Modern Masculinity”?
Our definition of modern masculinity is to be in harmony with and working towards accepting all aspects of ourselves. For us, it’s made up of our 4 pillars: Awareness, Character, Vulnerability, and Service.
Is your organization religious or spiritually based?
We are not a religious or spiritual community. However, we are inspired by and are impacted by spiritual teachings and our conversations may reference these from time to time. For example, Zen meditation derived from Eastern philosophy.
What is your target age group?
Our target age group is men 25-45, and we’ve seen many men of all ages actively participate. We chose this demographic based on research where we identified a need/gap to serve.
Do I need to live in Calgary, Canada to participate?
Not at all! The blessing in disguise that came out of 2020 has been the power of digital communication and connection. People from all over the world attend our events and experiences online.
